Garibaldi Provincial Park
Garibaldi Park is only an hour or so from Vancouver, yet few people venture far into the park. The Elfin lakes area is a popular hiking area in summer and excellent for skiing or snowshoeing in winter. The Elfin lake hut provides comfortable accomodations. From the hut or campground, the hike to Opal Cone comes highly recommended.
In the fall, the area around the campground is a haven for black bears, we saw nine in two days.
